Why Der Hall exists
Before I built plugins, I was a musician and producer myself. Two things always mattered most to me: experience — and uniqueness.
That’s why I created Der Hall. I wanted whoever plays it to experience something no reverb had ever given me.
Der Hall — say dare hahl — is German for reverb: the sound a place leaves behind.

The installer is signed and notarised by Apple, so this should not happen. If macOS still shows a warning, right-click (or Control-click) the installer and choose Open, then confirm. You only need to do this once.
Requires Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Unzip and run Der Hall Setup.exe; a manual install without admin rights is included. SHA-256
The installer is not yet digitally signed, so SmartScreen may warn about it. If the file came from nebelwerk.audio, click More info, then Run anyway. The installer puts Der Hall.vst3 into C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 and the standalone app into C:\Program Files\Nebelwerk\Der Hall.

Before you buy
macOS 11 or later, Apple Silicon and Intel: VST3, Audio Units (AU) and a standalone app. Tested in REAPER, Ableton Live, Logic Pro and GarageBand; use a host that supports one of these formats. 4 GB RAM and 100 MB free disk space are plenty.
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit): VST3 and a standalone app, for any host that supports VST3. Installers are in the Download section; the full list is in the licence terms.
FEED, SING and ROOM can deliberately create feedback — that is part of the instrument. Levels can rise suddenly and stay high, which can damage your hearing and your speakers. That is why all three start locked; unlocking one shows a red warning in the plug-in.
Lower your monitoring volume before unlocking, raise the control gradually — especially on headphones — and keep a limiter in your monitoring chain. The locks limit FEED, SING and ROOM; they do not limit the plug-in’s total output.

Yes — for 14 days, free and fully functional. Click Try free for 14 days, enter your e-mail, and follow the confirmation link; your trial key is then shown on the confirmation page. No account, no payment details. When the trial ends, the plug-in simply stops until you enter a lifetime key. One trial per e-mail address.
Der Hall includes all seven sound worlds, the EYE and RESONATE. One licence is for one person on up to three computers you own or use yourself, for private and commercial work, with no subscription and no time limit. You may pass the whole licence on to someone else; we reassign the key free of charge. Details in the licence terms.
You enter a licence key in Der Hall. It is stored locally and checked with the licence server when the plug-in starts. After a successful check you can work offline for up to 90 days; the plug-in warns you two weeks before it needs the next check. See licence data and activation.
Once Paddle has confirmed a full refund and initiated its payment (after a withdrawal or under our money-back promise), the licence ends and the key stops working at the next check; a request alone or a partial refund does not deactivate it. Should we ever change or retire the activation system, we will keep your purchased licence activatable — that is a promise in the licence terms.
Straight after checkout the order page shows your licence key, and the same key arrives by e-mail. The installer is in the Download section — one download for trial and full licence. Paste the key into the plug-in’s licence window and you’re done. The key usually appears on the order page within seconds and the e-mail within a few minutes; if processing is delayed, the order page tells you. Invoice and receipt come from Paddle, our reseller.
Not yet — but it’s on the way. We are working on a Linux build of Der Hall (VST3, x64) for hosts like REAPER and Bitwig. If you want to be told when it’s ready, write to [email protected] — every message counts towards how soon it happens.
That’s what the free 14-day trial is for: use the full version in your own sessions before you spend a cent.
